AllenWorks Privacy Notice
Effective August 30, 2026
AllenWorks is a private household application controlled by its owner. It uses Plaid Transactions in read-only mode. It cannot initiate payments, transfers, withdrawals, or changes to a financial account.
Who operates AllenWorks
AllenWorks is operated by Allen Butcher for private personal and household use. There are no employees, outside administrators, or public customer accounts. A separately authenticated household member may receive only information explicitly classified for shared-household access. Questions or privacy requests may be directed to the application owner through the established AllenWorks owner contact channel.
Financial data AllenWorks receives
When the owner chooses to connect a financial institution through Plaid Link, AllenWorks may receive account names and types, masked account numbers, balances, institution information, and transaction history. Bank usernames and passwords are entered only in the institution or Plaid-hosted flow and are not received or stored by AllenWorks.
How the data is used
The data is used only to show personal balances and transactions, support budgeting and cash-flow views, categorize transactions, and prepare personal financial planning information for the owner. A household briefing may show a household member aggregate monthly-budget totals approved for shared use, but not account names, account balances, transactions, debts, or provider identifiers. AllenWorks does not sell financial data, use it for advertising, or disclose it to data brokers.
Storage and protection
AllenWorks stores its application data on the owner's private Synology server. Plaid access tokens are encrypted before storage. Access to AllenWorks is protected by HTTPS, a password, authenticator-based multifactor authentication, rate limiting, isolated application services, and least-privilege container settings. Local Qwen processing is isolated from the Plaid finance service and does not receive Plaid financial data.
Retention and deletion
Plaid-sourced account and transaction data is retained only while the corresponding institution remains connected and while it is needed for the personal finance features. The owner can remove an institution from Personal Finance > Connections. Removal calls Plaid's Item removal endpoint and permanently deletes that institution's locally stored Plaid accounts, balances, and transactions. Encrypted backups expire under the documented AllenWorks backup schedule.
Sharing and service providers
Plaid and the selected financial institution process information as necessary to establish and operate the requested read-only connection. AllenWorks does not authorize any other third party to use Plaid-sourced financial data. Plaid's own privacy practices are described in the Plaid legal and privacy materials.
Owner choices
- Do not connect an institution unless the data categories shown in Plaid Link are acceptable.
- Disconnect an institution and delete its Plaid data at any time inside AllenWorks.
- Contact the application owner to request verification or deletion of locally held personal data.
- Disable a household member's login or phone notifications without changing the owner's account.
Changes to this notice
This notice will be updated before AllenWorks materially changes the financial data it collects, its purposes, or its sharing practices. The effective date above identifies the current version.
